Almost SUPERWomen

Besides aching knees and a Frankenstein-like walk, I feel almost like SuperWoman. My friend coerced me into running the Ft. Worth Cowtown Half Marathon with her. Considering we only had 2 weeks to train and before that my lifetime maximum run was around 3 miles, I am still amazed we were capable of running the entire race without walking! And now, as an additional ego boost, my toes look cute too. I have great friends!

I'm not worthy.....

Honestly why do I surround myself with Superwomen friends??? In the hopes that it will rub off on me.

Congratulations!!

Yay, Shari! Congratulations on the major to do and did!

I hope to just be able to walk everyday. But first I need to figure out how to sleep when I'm supposed to... *sigh*

your awesome! I have enjoyed my running and the lost pounds, but I know for a fact that I will never have the burning desire to run a marathon :) Cute toes?? Are you guys getting pedicures w/o me? Why didn't we ever do that when I was there? :( Sniff, sniff! Next time you go you will have to let me know, and I will go too and we can gossip over the phone together! It'll be just like I am there :) Well, OK, not quite, but hey... Miss you guys!

Quick thoughts

So I'm finally up with the times and have my own blog. You'd think if someone was a "webmaster" that they might be current with a full family history...

Now I'm frantically searching my mind for all those clever things my kids did and all those life changing thoughts that would really help all who read my little blog. Nothing.

Just two quick stories about both kids. Maybe then I can feel at ease knowing that my children's lives are adequately documented.

Jake has always been interested in numbers. He loves to ask random people (fellow shoppers at Wal-Mart, those who happen to stop next to us at a red light, etc) what their address is. Finally Jake discovered his life calling when we went through the Wal-Greens drive thru to pick up a prescription. Jake decided he would like to be the teller asking people for their address to verify their getting the correct prescription. We are in the process of getting him a store job application right now.

Afton has profound moments when I realize just how fast she is growing up. This week she saw a little girl walking with just her mom. She pointed at the little girl and said "Ohhh, that little girl doesn't have a brother." Let's just hope she always appreciates that she has a big brother!
